Benidoleig feels the closeness of the sea but at the same time is ruled by an ancestral presence, for the landscape is dominated by the sight of an impressive mountain range that some people rightly describe as the
dried skin of a Diplodocus sleeping peacefully: the Sierra de Segaria. This landscape, rolling and hemmed in by the mountains, stretches upwards to the point from which we can spy the blue horizon of the sea.
Benidoleig is on a rise in the middle of the Sierra de Seguili, 131 metres above sea level, in countryside of crop fields, rosemary and oleanders. There are three villa estates in Benidoleig: Rincon del Silencio,
Espana la Vieja and Aldea de Las Cuevas, in which most of the residents are from Germany and Britain.

| Many trekking routes cross this countryside. We should highlight the climb, on foot or by bicycle, to the beautiful summit of the Sierra de Seguili. We can enjoy spectacular views of the Montgo, the town of Denia, inland valleys and especially the imposing outline of the
Segaria mountain range.

One and a half kilometres from Benidoleig on the road to Pedreguer, there is the famous grotto of Les Calaveres. This cave is 400 metres long and at some point reaches a height of 50 metres.
This Costa Blanca town has an extensive year-round programme of fiestas, outstanding among which are the celebrations in honour of Santa Barbara, the Inmaculada Concepcion and the Santisima Sangre, the town´s main fiestas.
Music, traditional activities and the gunpowder of the “despertaes” firecracker awakenings announce, with the rising of the sun, the beginning of a festive day.
