Town
The nearness to the sea mainly characterises the enclave, although the municipal district is a real invitation to tranquillity amidst the quiet ensemble of streets with the village flavour and the natural surroundings
of market gardens.
The municipal sports centre has installations for team and individual sports, the Culture Centre with a newspaper and magazine library, book library and several multi-use rooms.
Places of interest include: Church of El Salvador (Plaza del Salvador,1), the town´s parish church, recently restored and housing the statue of El Salvador; Church of San Jose (Avda. Mestre Vicent,2);Tower of Mirrarosa, a 15th-century defensive
construction that guarded the access to the town from the river Girona; Roman villa of the Almadrava (Las Marinas road), remains of an ancient Roman pottery.
Beach
From the point of Almadrava, at the mouth of the Girona river, to the Cami Narjaletes we have a quiet beach of rounded pebbles, enjoyed by visitors who come back loyally every year.
Fiestas
“The Saviour is a great treasure”. So praises the hymn of Els Poblets that remembers the legend of the miraculous apparition of a statue of Christ on the Almadrava
beach. So, in honour of the Divine Saviour, Els Poblets patron saint fiestas begin on July 28 and continue for a week. The fiestas reach their climax on August 6, the Day of the Saviour.
