Sea and mountains … but what a sea!   Javea is a privileged Costa Blanca resort and without doubt one of the prettiest areas on the Mediterranean coast.  The great variety of landscapes, the mild climate and open character of its people attract and captivate travellers. Town -  The town of Xabia is made up of three population centres: Old Town, Port (Aduanas del Mar) and the Playa del Arenal beach.  The old town is outstanding for its narrow streets that must be walked on foot to be able to appreciate the unusual architecture of its buildings, in which the most characteristic aspect is the rough stonework surrounding doors, windows and balconies. Aduanas del Mar, the old fisherman´s quarter, has been turned by tourism into a busy centre with different shops, typical restaurants and bars full of a great variety of tapas and fresh fish.    Beach -  The third population centre is in the middle of the bay of Xabia, where we can enjoy a horse-shoe bay of fine sand and shallow water.  The Playa del Arenal beach stands out as a very dynamic summer centre with its great number of restaurants, bars and pubs in which to enjoy the nightlife.   Nature - Twelve tourism vantage-points are spread along the length of the Xabia coastline and there are many picturesque landscapes from which we can enjoy pretty panoramic views and take walks in unspoilt natural surroundings.  One of these areas is the Montgo Nature Park and the Cape San Antonio.  This cape has been declared a marine reserve by the Valencian government.  To the south of Xabia there are beaches and coves of crystal-clear water such as the Cala Blanca, Barraca, Ambolo (nudist beach) and Grandella.  The remains of watchtowers at the Portitxol and Ambolo remind us how attractive this area was for pirates.   Fiestas and Culture -  On June 24 the town fills with fire and colour to welcome summer with the Fogueres de Sant Joan bonfires.  In the second half of July the streets of the Aduanas area thunder to the rhythm of gunpowder and music with the Moors and Christians parades.  From September 1st to 8th the people honour the saint Nuestra Senora de Loreto.
