Town
Constructed over the Pla de Feliu is the narrow church bell-tower. Around it is the old
town centre that takes us back into the past. In the Plaza de la Creu there is a modernist building. In the Plaza de la
Iglesia there is the Church of Santa Catalina, the hermitage of the Divina Pastora and the Casa Abadia (rectory), restored in
1986. In Moraira we should visit the parish church Mare de Deu dels Desamparats; the margenot, the old contention wall
that protected the fisherman´s homes during rough seas; the club Nautico, the hermitage of Mare de Deu del Carme,
opposite the castle, the tower of Cap d Ór and Moraira Castle.
Beaches
Making a tour of the coast we will come across La Cala, a small rocky beach little visited
because of the difficult access. By boat we can round the cape (Cap dÓr) until we come across the beach of El Portet. From
there we can start the climb to the Cap dÓr watchtower. Towards Moraira, we find the Lámpolla beach at the foot of the castle.
Towards Calpe there are the beaches of Plateges with areas of sand and rocks. Before reaching Cap Blanc there is the rock
beach of L´Andrago. Water-sport lovers can enjoy the installations of Moraira´s Club Nautico. Private companies also organise
trips for diving, windsurfing and undersea fishing.
Nature
The many villas estates in the area are set in the heart of the Countryside with good
facilities and easy road access. The traditional fishing port is now the shopping and services centre of Teulada.
The municipal district of Teulada covers 32 Km2, of which more than 2,000 hectares
are used for crop growing, especially the grapevine. The district is crossed and knitted together by paths that can
be followed on foot or bicycle.
Fiestas
Teulada has an extensive programme of fiestas, in which you will be able to enjoy its
traditions. The festivity of San Vicente Ferrer is the most important in Teulada. From the Monday following Easter, there
are ten days of fiesta including religious acts and fun events.
In July the most outstanding event is the fishermen’s procession in honour of the
Virgen del Carmen and of their patron saint, the Virgen de Los Desamparados. The firework display from the sea and the palo
ensabonat should not be
missed.
