The town of Ondara lies to the north east of the Marina Alta and is a central point in road communications from north to south of the Mediterranean corridor (A-7,CN332), as well as from inland areas to the coast four kilometres away.  Its territory is practically flat except in the district of the segaria mountain range where the town hall has equipped a beautiful public park with excellent facilities.

Ondara´s bullring, in the avenue Dr. Fleming, is one of the most interesting monuments to visit.  It was built at the end of the 19^th century and includes structures in Arabic style.  It was practically destroyed during the Civil War and was rebuilt in 1957.

Almost all the great bullfighters have performed in this arena.  The clock tower in the market place is also worth a visit.  It is the only remaining tower of the ancient Moorish castle.  It was totally renovated in 1994 and declared an historic monument in 1996.  It houses a huge clockwork from the beginning of the 20^th century and a very artistic clock tower.

In the Plaza del Claustro there is a cloister which was really the former church of the convent and now forms part of the town hall buildings.  Inside it houses the portrait of the Mare de Deu de la Soldad, the town´s patron saint.
